Caitlyn Ng Man Chuen is a writer and researcher, born and raised in the Greater Toronto Area. Her art and her research explore concepts of memory, perception, reproduction, and ephemera.
Her writing has been published in the Malahat Review, Room Magazine, and En Bloc magazine. She has also written for Conde Nast Traveler, Mid-Theory Collective, CAVRN, and TACLA. She was a staff writer at Honeyhands Magazine for two years, an assistant editor at the White Wall Review, and briefly a features writer for Comic Book Resources. Her academic work has been published in the International Journal of Cultural Studies and she has presented at various conferences in communication and media studies as well as popular music studies.
Her debut literary fiction novel, Afterimages, is due for publication in the spring of 2027 with Book*hug Press.
She enjoys the underground gay clubs in Seoul, the underground shopping arcades in Taipei, and the underground eel restaurants in Nagoya. Sometimes, she likes things aboveground too. She has lived in four countries.
Caitlyn is currently a PhD Candidate in Communication and Media at the University of Michigan.
